"The selected printer is not available or not installed correctly" error when printing on Google Chrome

Problem

All settings in the print preview are greyed out when trying to print a receipt or barcode label from Chrome

Setup

• Retail POS for Mac
• Google Chrome
• Receipt Printer

Cause

The printer is not recognised on certain versions of Google Chrome

Solution

1. Reinstall printer

1. Go to System Preferences and remove the receipt printer
2. Right-click on Printers window
3. Click Reset printing system...
4. Add the printer that was just removed
5. Enable Cups

2. Update Chrome

1. On your computer, open Chrome.
2. At the top right, click More .
3. Click Update Google Chrome. If you don't see this button, you're on the latest version.
4. Click Relaunch.

3. Uninstall and reinstall Chrome

1. Quit Chrome
2. Open Finder
3. Click on Applications folder
4. Drag Google Chrome icon to the Bin in your dock
5. Open Finder
6. Click Go to Folder
7. Enter ~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome
8. Select all folders inside ~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome
9. Drag all folders to the Bin icon in your dock
10. Empty Bin
