How to void an issued gift card

Objective

Voiding a gift card to remove the balance and allow you to use the gift card number

Setup

• Retail POS for Mac or PC

Steps

1. Sign in as a user with permission to void sales
2. Click Reporting
3. Click Gift Card Reports
4. Search for the gift card number
5. Click View Sale
6. On the right hand side, click Void 

Additional Information

Voiding the sale where the gift card was issued will do the following:

• Remove the payment received for the gift card from reporting data
• Remove the balance from the gift card
