Why do the Sales Report and Register Closure for the same day show discrepancies?

Answer

The totals in a Sales Report and Register Closure for the same day don't have to match. A Register Closure can include a sale with a sale date that is outside the closure's opening and closing hours. This can happen if a sale is backdated (entered to the system on a different day that its sale date) or if it syncs to Retail POS with a delay (caused by Internet connectivity issues).
